Meditation Scroll

A meditation scroll or slow stitching scroll is a small hand stitched strip of fabric that is wrapped around a wooden spool.
The core concept is to use a repetitive act of hand stitching as a tool to enable mindfulness and a sense of calm and focus. This activity can be used to reduce stress and promote peace.

Instructions
Put some glue on empty reel, cover with the start of long piece of fabric, leave to dry.

Start sewing on scraps of choice, go with how you feel, your mood, the feeling of the fabrics, the pattern, whatever feels right for you at this moment in time.
I use a running stitch can be vertical, horizontal or mix them both to secure the scraps; this is your scroll be as creative as you wish.
I like bright fun patterns but you may prefer plain patterns or pastel colours.
There is no set time to spend on your scroll, you will feel when you want to stop, there is no rush to finish. It is an activity that you can return to especially if you need some calm reflective time in your life.

Do take time as you return to activity to look back over your scroll each time, notice the colours and patterns you have chosen, the textures of fabrics, this mindfulness time will clear your mind and calm you peacefully

Continue at your own pace until scroll is complete, add some scrap ribbon or cord to wrap the scroll safely to revisit whenever you like.

When you are ready start another one with new scraps, new colours, you are in control.

Express yourself
